WEST LINN - The West Linn Public Library will feature the photography of Bruce MacGregor and the ink drawings of Deb Perry-Guetti during the month of October. The exhibit will run October 6-29 in the library’s Community Room which is open to the public when not in use, and always open on Sundays noon - 5 p.m. An artist’s reception with a nature walk to nearby Maddax Woods will be held on Sunday, October 25.

Bruce’s photographs are from “A Year in the Life of Forest Park,” a larger exhibit that just wrapped up at the World Forestry Center. Over the course of two years and many miles of hiking up and down the park, he captured the many faces of the largest urban park in America. The photographs are a record of a place that is managed as a natural environment but burdened with the problems that come from close proximity to a city. As a photojournalist, Bruce works on stories about Oregon’s leadership role in the green revolution.

In contrast, Deb’s cropped ink and wax drawings show a small glimpse of our natural landscape as if seen through a window. She takes multiple images and quilts them together into what she calls a story “through many panes”. She enjoys using natural materials including handmade papers, wax, threads, and natural pigments and inks. Deb has a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from Pacific Northwest College of Art and has been exhibiting around the Portland area since 2001. When she is not in the studio, she is teaching painting, drawing, and print-making.
