WEST LINN – Robin Cody, author of Another Way the River Has: Taut True Tales from the Northwest, will speak at the library on Monday, July 18, at 6:30 pm. The program is free and open to the public.
Robin Cody grew up in Estacada. After graduating from Yale, he taught at the American School of Paris for a decade. He then served as Dean of Admissions at Reed College before taking up freelance writing in 1984. While writing, he has been a baseball umpire, a basketball referee, and special ed school bus driver.
Cody is the author of Ricochet River - which the Oregon Cultural Heritage Commission recognized as one of the 100 essential “Oregon books” – and Voyage of a Summer Sun, for which he won the 1995 Oregon Book Award for literary non-fiction, and the 1996 Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association Book Award. Both of the books are on the Oregon State Library’s list of “150 Books for the Oregon Sesquicentennial.” His most recent book, Another Way the River Has, is a collection of short true stories published by Oregon State University Press in April 2010.
