Food For Fines

February is Food for Fines Month at the library! Here's your chance to do two good deeds at once: clear up your overdue fines at the library and help the hungry. Starting February 1st, for every can/package of food brought in, the library will forgive $1.00 in overdue fines. Fees for lost or damaged items will not be waived.

Donors are asked to contribute non-perishable nutritional foods. No dented/damaged cans or previously-opened packages please. Ramen noodles cannot be accepted. All food will go to the West Linn Food Pantry

Examples of nutritious foods that you can donate include:

  • Canned meats (tuna, chicken, salmon, etc.)
  • Canned or dried beans
  • Canned fruits and vegetables
  • Brown or white rice
  • Whole grain cereal
  • Whole-wheat pasta
  • Soups, chilies, and stews
  • Peanut butter
