An exhibit about life in 1939 will be on display through the month of March in honor of the library's 75th birthday. When the library was founded in 1939 the world was on the brink of war, goldfish gulping was a fad among college students, the NCAA held its first Final Four championship, and John Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath was at the top of the bestseller list. Stop by the Community Room in March to see what else was happening that year and to see a timeline of the library's 75-year history.
The Community Room is open to the public when not in use. Call ahead to double-check that a meeting won't be in progress when you plan to visit.
