The West Linn Public Library will host an exhibit featuring the work of Alexandra Petersen during the month of March. The exhibit will run March 2-29 in the library's Community Room which is open to the public when not in use, and always open on Sundays, noon – 5:00 p.m.
Petersen is a self taught artist and she combines original pen and ink drawings with encaustic. Her work focuses on themes of isolation and introspection, and the subtle strangeness of childhood memories and dream states. Animals are often featured prominently, serving as symbolic manifestations of the hopes and fears of childhood that sleep within us all.
Petersen has exhibited throughout Portland including the Bella Perla Gallery, the Tyson Gallery, the Olympic, and the Press Club.
