1000 Books Before Kindergarten is the library’s reading program for families and caregivers with children who have not yet entered kindergarten. This program encourages parents and caregivers to create a regular routine of sharing books with young children. Research has shown children who are read to at an early age are more successful in school, and that the ability to learn language skills is greatest before the age of six.
Participants receive a reading log and incentives after every 100 books read to support families in reaching their 1000 book goal. To sign up for 1000 Books Before Kindergarten, please inquire at the downstairs desk located in Youth Services.
