Director of Public Works/City Engineer

 Full time position $6,793 - $9,271 DOQ The City is seeking an exceptional Director of Public Works/City Engineer. As part of the executive team, this position reports directly to the City Manager. The Public Works Director/City Engineer manages and directs the overall operation of Public Works. The Public Works Department is comprised of two divisions (Operations and Engineering) that work together to provide high quality and reliable utility services to the citizens. The department provides water, environmental services, and street services as well as maintenance services for the City’s fleet of vehicles and equipment. Other services the department provides include GIS, public improvements and engineering. The Public Works operating budget is approximately $13.59M, and the department has a total of 27 FTEs. This position will work with initiatives established by the City Council and guided by the City Manager. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in public administration, engineering or a related field; a professional engineering license (with ability to obtain Oregon registration within one year from date of hire). Requires 5 years municipal engineering and public works experience and a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role. The position requires sound management, supervision and communication skills.
