UTILITY BILLING ADDRESS: You may notice a Bend, Oregon address on your utility bill payment envelope. In October 2008, the City of West Linn Finance Department started using a lockbox service for utility billing. The lockbox service, which is based in Bend, now processes the utility payment checks and deposits the payments directly into West Linn’s bank. This has increased efficiencies and the security of West Linn’s check processing system. For your additional information, several quotes for this service were obtained, including ones located in the Portland-metro area, and the lockbox service located in Bend was approximately one fourth of the cost of the others. As always, payments can still be paid in person at City Hall, and you may also sign up for a direct payment plan.
