Parks & Recreation - Thursday night’s “Music In The Park” had the largest turnout in the concert’s opening night history. KOOL 105.9’s Morning Host Deejays Janine Wolf and John Williams introduced the evening’s entertainment –
Design. This energetic group had the crowd on their feet and rocking to the tunes of various genre. The weather cooperated with 82 degrees at start time, cooling down slowly throughout the evening. If opening night is any sign of what’s to come at the next five concerts, residents, families and friends should arrive early and be ready for some great entertainment.
Library - Have you seen the historic Willamette photo exhibit yet? Join Susan Hartford, the historian for the Willamette Centennial Committee, at a reception in the library Community Room on Sunday, July 27 from 2-4 p.m. Stop by and hear about how she tracked down the photographs and learn more about this historic photographic exhibit.
Hey, kids! Slugs, Bugs & Tales! Come to the library next Tuesday, at 2:00 or 4:00 p.m on July 29 to hear Christopher Leebrick, West Linn’s own amazing storyteller.
It’s Wii time! Next Thursday, July 31, teens can come to the library for an after-hours Game Night. Evolve your inner Guitar Hero III, Wii, and DDR! The fun starts at 6:30. This is an after hours event, so please enter and exit through the downstairs patio door.
Ready for some music? Local pianist John Nilsen will be bringing his grand piano to the library to perform at the popular “Music in the Stacks” program next Wednesday, July 30, at 6:30 PM. The hour-long solo concert is free and open to the public.
Congratulations to the West Linn Library Youth Services department. Kids and teens dressed as birthday candles and singing “Happy Birthday Willamette” earned the “Grand Marshall Best Theme Representation” trophy at the Old Time Fair Parade.
