The City of West Linn, the Oregon Mayors Association, and Oregon ASK are pleased to present an essay contest for middle-schoolers:
“If I Were Mayor, Afterschool Would Be…”
Share your creative ideas about the afterschool opportunities you would like to see in West Linn! Your essays will be entered into a contest to win lunch with the mayor and a new laptop from the League of Oregon Cities.
Contest Details:

Deadline: April 20, 2012

Open to students enrolled in middle school or being home-schooled at the middle school grade level for the 2011-12 school year.

Essays must be no more than 1,000 words in length and typed.

Email a Word version of essay to IfIWereMayor@WestLinnOregon.gov

Include your name, school, grade, email address, and phone number at the top of the essay.

The City of West Linn is currently working with community partners to explore afterschool activity space near Safeway.

The City is committed to safe and healthy spaces for West Linn teens.

West Linn essays will be entered into the Oregon Mayor’s Association essay contest, and will also be used to inform the City as it pursues afterschool space for West Linn teens.
