Policy Questions for Council Consideration:
The Trust for Public Lands has negotiated an exclusive purchase option on 14 acres between Tannler Drive and Salamo Road known as the Oak Savanna property. The intent of this effort was to eventually place this property into public ownership. Per City Council direction, and with the help of the Trust, the City has secured 2/3 of the total funding through grants, as previously discussed. The remaining 1/3cost has been set aside in the Parks and Recreation Department budget. It is now time to execute the verbal commitments the City has made to complete the acquisition of this property.
Staff recommends the City Council, by motion; authorize the City Manager to enter into a purchase and sale agreement with the Trust for Public Lands, for the 14 acre Oak Savanna Property.
