Project will replace aging waterlines prone to leaks and will aid in conserving potable water and the utilities used in producing it.
Policy Questions for Council Consideration:
The City Council included $450,000 in the current budget for the 2009 waterline replacement project. Staff followed the City of West Linn Local Contracting Rules in the preparation and advertising of the project. Seven bidders submitted bids which ranged from $294,317 to $443,237; the low responsive, responsible bidder, is DM Excavating. Staff has checked references and their quality of work and is confident in recommending the award to DM Excavating.
Acting in capacity of the Contract Review Board, authorize the City Manager to sign a contract with DM Excavating for the accomplishment of PW0913.
