WEST LINN - The City of West Linn Transportation Division recently completed 14 repair patches on Skyline Drive, totaling 64 tons of asphalt. These repairs were accomplished by grinding approximately two inches of the existing asphalt, thus repairing the deteriorating wearing coarse without disturbing the base rock.
This process allows for less restricted traffic movement while repairs are being done. Skyline Drive is a minor arterial and this section was recognized as an immediate need to extend the pavement life and improve ride ability. Routine street maintenance is a critical element to protecting the City's investment in its streets network. Monthly street maintenance fees allow for the City to adequately maintain its streets network.
