Speed Racing Duo Caught on I-205

Posted: October 27th, 2008 3:29 PM On Saturday morning at 1:09 a.m. West Linn Officer Tony Poitras was working radar on I-205 south near the old Rest Area when he saw a car traveling at 55 mph. This car was rapidly overtaken by two more cars that were side by side traveling at 116 mph. One of the cars, a black Honda Civic was traveling in the emergency lane (shoulder) while the other car, a VW Jetta was in the fast lane. Officer Poitras pulled out behind the speed racers and signaled them to stop with his emergency lights. Much to his surprise both cars pulled over. The Honda was driven by Sean Sano WILLIAMS, 21, of Portland. His 17-year-old girlfriend was also in the car. Mr. Williams was cited for Reckless Driving and Reckless Endangering. The Volkswagen was driven by Alexander David NELSON, 19, of Milwaukie. Mr. Nelson was cited for Reckless Driving. Contact Info: Sgt.
