Food For Fines

February is Food for Fines Month at the library! Here's your chance to do two good deeds at once: clear up your overdue fines at the library and help the hungry. For every can of food brought in, the library will forgive 50 cents in overdue fines. Fees for lost or damaged items will not be waived.

Donors are asked to contribute non-perishable nutritional foods. No glass containers, expired food, dented/damaged cans, or previously-opened packages please. Ramen noodles will not be accepted. All food will go to the West Linn Food Pantry.

Examples of nutritious foods that you can donate include:

  • Canned meats (tuna, chicken, salmon, etc.)
  • Canned or dried beans
  • Canned fruits and vegetables
  • Brown or white rice
  • Whole grain cereal
  • Whole-wheat pasta
  • Soups, chilies, and stews
  • Peanut butter
  • Baby formula
