WEST LINN – Thursday, June 4, 2009 at approximately 8:45pm Darla Kay CURTIS (48) of West Linn was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants after crashing at Willamette Drive and I-205.
Ms. CURTIS had been southbound on I-205 when she took the Willamette Drive (Hwy 43) exit. She sped through the intersection at the bottom of the ramp and failed to obey the red traffic signal. She careened across the intersection, in front of several cars, and then jumped the curb on the far side of the intersection. The car continued up a very steep (estimated 30 percent grade) embankment traveling another 50-60 feet. The West Linn Police were notified of the crash at 8:43 P.M. and arrived a few minutes later.
Ms. CURTIS was transported to Oregon Health Sciences University Hospital, with non life threatening trauma related injuries. On scene care was rendered by TVF&R and AMR. Ms. CURTIS was cited and released at OHSU for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUII) and Careless Driving.
Officer John HUNTSMAN investigated the crash while Officer Ed FRIEND conducted the DUII investigation.
