West Linn Man Arrested for Aggravated Theft, Forgery and Identity Theft

WEST LINN – On Tuesday, March 31, 2009, Phillip Robert VERDORN (44) was arrested on charges stemming from the fraudulent operation of a window covering business where he de-frauded customers, suppliers, and business associates of cash and product. Mr. Verdoorn was an independent contractor for Integrity Concepts, a window covering business. Mr. Verdoorn would prospect new sales leads and collect deposits for the installation of window blinds. He did not forward the monies collected to the company accounts; instead he would divert them to his own personal accounts. The owner of Integrity Concepts, Steve L. White of West Linn, was unaware of the thefts by his contractor. Once Mr. White learned of the thefts, he contacted the West Linn Police Department. Mr. White reports the theft of over $100,000. “The victims in these crimes are the consumers and Mr. White,” said Detective Nick Amendolara. “Mr. Verdoorn installed some of the ordered product; but not all, and did not forward any of the monies received to the company causing Mr. White to pay for the installed materials. Mr. Verdoorn, who also goes by the last name of Lombardo, was lodged at the Clackamas County Jail in lieu of $47,500 bail on charges of Aggravated Theft 1, Identity Theft, and Forgery 2. Mr. Verdoorn was featured on a news story about fraudulent blind sales last year on KATU Channel 2. Detective Amendolara urges any recent victims of this fraud to contact him at the West Linn Police Department at 503-655-6214 ext 4452. ##### Contact: Sgt Neil Hennelly 503-655-6214 ext 4498 Posted: March 31, 2009 at 3:52pm
