As part of an agreement with the Oregon Department of Transportation to evaluate the feasibility of a roundabout at the intersection of 10th Street and Willamette Falls Drive, the City, in parnership with the Historic Willamette Main Street Association is exploring the need for a parking management program in this area. Our hope is that by taking a look at these issues now, we can get ahead of any potential parking supply issues that may otherwise result from future development in the area.
Between August and November of this year, we're planning to inventory the existing parking supply, talk with residents and business owners about parking issues and opportunities, forecast the need for additional parking, and develop a strategy for managing parking in this area to ensure it continues to remain a vibrant and walkable commercial neighborhood.
Let us know your perspective on parking, walking or biking, shopping and/or living in this beautiful West Linn neighborhood. Do you have difficulty finding a place to park during your visits to the area? Would better signage or different time limits help you or your customers find parking? Is special event parking a problem or an opportunity? How can walking and cycling be more inviting?
Drop us a line and let us know what you think! Questions and comments can be delivered to West Linn Associate Planner, Zach Pelz at firstname.lastname@example.org or (503) 656-4211. If you're free Tuesday, September 24th, from 1-2:30pm the Parking Management Task Force is holding a meeting at TVF&R Fire Station #59 (1860 Willamette Falls Drive, West Linn) to listen to your ideas and talk about potential solutions. We hope to see you there.
