WEST LINN - Contractors are working on roof repairs for the West Linn Public Library. The expected completion date is September 21.
The roof has been leaking for several years and the library has been getting by with temporary repairs. A full overhaul is now being undertaken in order to protect the contents of the library from water damage. Funds for the roof repairs come from the Library District capital funds.
Some parking spots will be unavailable during the repairs. No tar is being used, so there will not be an odor, but some dust may be present outside as debris is tossed into the dumpster. Although the noisiest work will occur before the library opens, patrons can expect some noise up until 4:00 p.m. on weekdays. As always, patrons are welcome to use the 24/7 drive-up book drop at the Adult Community Center.
Neighboring businesses Polar Systems and Windermere have generously offered some of their parking for staff during the construction.
